Born in 1979 in Freiburg im Braisgau, Germany, finally settled down in Oporto, Portugal. After graduating in clinical psycho-pedagogy, Cristiano was trained in Gestalt therapy; these tools permitted him to work during some years in the field of behavioural deviations. Simultaneously, he attended different theatrical and dance workshops.

Cristiano is one of the teaching staff at the Institute of Applied Psychology in the postgraduate course "Human Development and Therapy through Expressive Arts" and also collaborates with the Portuguese School of Biodanza through supervision of students and new teachers.

BIODANZA (ROLANDO TORO SYSTEM)

Biodanza is a human integration system of organic renewal of affective re- education, and of re-learning of the life original functions. Its application consists in leading vivencias (vitality, sexuality, creativity, affectivity and transcendence potentials) through music, singing, movements and group encounter situations. Biodanza integration process is carried out through the stimulation of primordial functions connected to life that allows every single person to be integrated with himself, with species and universe.

Biodanza was created in the 1960s by the Chilean anthropologist and psychologist Rolando Toro, the Biodanza system is now found in 54 countries, including Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Spain, Chile, France, Norway, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Uruguay, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States, Colombia, Venezuela, and Belgium. Biodanza encompasses a central Foundation, a set of schools, thousands of teachers, operating as individual businesses trained to the model who are linked by a non-profit Federation to which they pay annual dues, engaging with hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic dancers around the world.

1. Waking up the HumAnimal

We all have a longing for what is wild, there are few antidotes accepted in our culture to respond to this ancient and burning desire, however most of us have been “civilized”, ashamed of this type of aspiration. However, the specter of the wild human continues to visit us day and night.

We have observed over the centuries, the reduction of space and the crushing of instinctive nature, for long periods, it was poorly managed, like wild fauna and virgin forests, it is no coincidence that wild and almost untouched regions of our planet disappear as the understanding of our own innermost wild nature fades, we are doing the same with the external nature as we are doing with the “inside” nature. We urgently need to do a psychic-archaeological excavations in the ruins of the underground world and from there recover the processes of the natural instinctive psyche.

Undomesticated women and men are synonymous with health. Its cycles change, its symbolic representations change, but in essence it does not change. By neglecting our animal side, we are nullifying a fundamental part that makes us human. Accessing and integrating this wild state is actually the place of support for all the psycological worlds.

The Ancient that lives throughout our corporeality constantly asks to be seen and updated. Whether we like it or not "the shadow that trots behind us, is definitely 4 footed" Clarissa P. Čstes, perhaps we are reaching the time of the Animal Age, that is, the time of return to the anima (soul).

2. Sexuality & Eroticismo

Sexuality represents the primordial energy pattern of power, beauty, enthusiasm and passion. It lives through the original thirst that our species has of pleasure and well-being. Its translated by the impulse to delve deep into the world of sensations. It is guided by the compass that lives in our heart connecting us with the need and the desire to give and receive love. So the first step is the recognize that love is an art, just as life is an art, if we want to learn how to love, we have to do what we would do if we wanted to learn how to play violin or painting.

The desire to love, is perhaps the strongest impulse of human creatures. It is his most fundamental passion, the motive that unites the human race, the clan, the family, the society.

For the integrated human, bathed in the waters of this archetype, emerges the vision that all things bind together in a beautiful, coherent and mysterious way. This creature naturally has an empathy for the world around him.

We are encrusted in a Western culture that values the principle of performance excessively, blind to the functions of life, we urgently need an ecstatic incandescent fire, we need exuberance, we must surrender to the arms of life instead of trying to control and consume.

3. The Art of Touch

The skin is what binds us and what separates us from the world. Everything that exists has a purpose integrated into the great wise plan of life. The skin is part of that mystical plan! If we have sensitive skin and not feathers or scales, it is because our sensitivity is part of Life's intelligence.
